Popularity of the violin is due to its extreme expressiveness; it can perform both slow, lyrical melodies and dazzling, rapid passages with equal effect. They play more notes than any other instrument in the orchestra. the violin is favorite choice for solos because its clear tone soars effortlessly above the orchestra.
